Job Description

Job Summary:
The Native Japanese Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing business operations in the Japanese market. The role involves driving operational efficiency, ensuring that services meet performance standards, and liaising with clients, stakeholders, and team members in Japan. This position requires a native-level understanding of Japanese language and culture, strong leadership skills, and a background in managing operations, particularly in a multi-national business or BPO environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage daily operations for the Japanese market, ensuring the team meets KPIs and SLAs.
Lead, mentor, and manage teams, including team leaders, supervisors, and support staff, fostering a high-performance work environment.
Coordinate with Japanese clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met and maintaining excellent client relationships.
Develop, implement, and optimize processes to improve operational efficiency and service quality in the Japanese market.
Monitor key metrics and generate reports on operational performance, identifying trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with global teams to ensure alignment on business goals and company standards.
Ensure full compliance with company policies, Japanese regulations, and industry standards.
Handle escalations from clients or internal teams, resolving issues promptly and maintaining service excellence.
Provide regular feedback to senior management on operational performance, client satisfaction, and team progress.
Manage budgets, monitor costs, and ensure efficient resource allocation for operations in Japan.
Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities in Japan to ensure business competitiveness.
Qualifications:

Native Japanese speaker with fluency in English (both written and spoken).
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar role, ideally in the Japanese market or with Japanese clients (5+ years preferred).
Strong understanding of Japanese business culture, market practices, and customer expectations.
Experience managing and leading teams, with a focus on achieving high performance and operational excellence.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in using business management software, CRM, and Microsoft Office.
Experience with budget management, cost control, and operational reporting.
