Job Description

Full spectrum of HR functions including recruitment, learning and development, compensation and benefits, performance management, industrial relations and employee relations.
Build and promote a team culture of respect and inclusivity within the resort, and responsibility for the overall wellbeing of all staff on and off island.
Develop awareness and reputation of the resort in the local community and promote team member involvement in local community.
Lead and direct the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, systems and processes to provide the required organizational structure, processes and skills to enable the company to meet its strategic objectives and to comply with relevant legislations. Provide human resource advice and counsel to senior management.
Provide leadership in industrial relations matters, including providing accurate advice on employment legislation, leading or participating in resolving grievances, disputes or other industrial matters. Research and investigate all workplace issues to discover facts, identify potential risks to and facilitate resolution through employee relations programs. Escalate urgent and serious issues.
Develop and implement recruitment strategies to continuously attract the right talent and implement programmes for effective employee retention. Oversee the selection process of key employees
Liaise with immigration department, immigration agents, labour department and other government ministries as necessary on foreign-staff related matters.
Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, policies and procedures and continuously update all the HR requirements applicable to the company e.g labour laws, income tax, EPF/SOCSO.
Develop a complete HR document filing system and electronic database for all staff. Responsible for providing staff with employment contracts, confirmation letters, recording performance measures and other human resource related letters and forms and ensuring that all documents and permits are up-to-date and easy to retrieve.
Manage and compute the resort’s full payroll including payment of EPF and SOCSO contributions and income tax payments and ensure full records are kept for each employee.
Conduct annual HR compliance/standards self-audit.
Collect and maintain data from exit interviews, turnover statistics, absenteeism reports to identify trends, training needs, and supervisory issues.
Assess training programs to determine effectiveness, actively pursue alternative training vehicles/methods, and interactive training technologies; determine training effectiveness; and recommend necessary enhancements; keep abreast of training trends in the industry through conferences, periodicals, and associations.
Responsible for the scheduling and follow through for training programmes, including posting of all class information and communication to all internal audiences.
Other ad-hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

Experienced in HR, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Extremely organized and process-oriented.
Hardworking, resourceful and results-driven.
An empathetic, respectful people manager.
Sound knowledge of Employment Act 1955, Malaysian Labor Law, SOCSO Act, Industrial Relations and prevailing HR practices and legislation and ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malay (oral and written).
Computer literate. Able to conduct large majority of work on the computer. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), communication by emails and ability to use internet as resource for research.
Understanding and knowledge of sustainability practices would be an advantage.
Professional references required.

The successful candidate will report to the Resident Manager.

Island based: Accommodation at Managers’ Block, meals and boat transfers will be provided
Salary:
7.000,00 MYR Monthly
